Derrick Orlando Cole was born May 24, 1985, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Annie Cole Maynor and Joe Stabler.
Derrick confessed Christ at an early age. He became a member of Mount Grove Baptist Church in West Blocton, Alabama under the leader of the late Reverend W.D. Dickerson.
Derrick received his education in the Bibb County School System and graduated in May of 2004.Derrick had a passion for driving big trucks. He drove professionally for Walpole Inc. in Birmingham, Alabama until his health began to fail.
Derrick was preceded in death by his grandparents: Elijah and Hattie Mae Morrow; Joe Stabler, Sr. and Junior Lee Burden; one sister: Jessica Maynor
Derrick made his triumphant entrance into glory on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at DCH Regional Medical accompanied by his loving mother, Annie.
Derrick leaves to cherish his precious memories: His loving mother Annie (Lionel) Maynor of Tuscaloosa, Al.; father Joe Stabler of Tuscaloosa, Al; Special father Jimmy Williams (Rochelle Miller) of West Blocton, Al; 3 sisters: Renisha Cole of Brent, Al, Jimmonica Williams of Tuscaloosa, Al, and Celicia Maynor of West Blocton, Al.; 2 grandmothers: Edna Mae Stabler of Brent, Al and Geraldine Williams of West Blocton, Al.;2nieces: Amiyah Cole and Emmie Carpenter;2 nephews: Jay’Veon Cole and Cor’Derrius Cole; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins; and a host of friends; several “brothers from another mother”.
Viewing will be held Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at New. Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Centreville with Interment at Cooper Cemetery.
