Derrick Arlando Lilly a.k.a. Pooh was born to John W. Lilly Sr. & Louise T. Lilly, on August 2, 1975, at Shelby Memorial Alabaster, AL. He entered into rest on February 20, 2024. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eric (Buck) Lilly on August 9th, 2017.
He confessed his life to Christ at an early age and joined the Carlton Hill Missionary Baptist Church, in Brierfield, AL.
He received his education through the Bibb County School system & graduated from Bibb County High School in 1993. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Marine Corp. He was a part of the 5th Battalion 10th Marine Sierra Battery 5/10. He served as a Field Artillery Cannoneer and he was also a Riflemen Sharp Shooter. In 1996, he was honorably discharged as Lance Corporal with a National Defense Service Medal, a good conduct medal, a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and a letter of appreciation. After leaving the Marine Corp, he pursued a career with the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked as a Sales Service Distribution Associate at the Montevallo Post Office from October 20, 2001 until his death.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: His wife of 29 years, Carise Lilly; His father and mother, John & Louise Lilly; 5 sons, Derrick Lilly Jr., Jonathan Lilly, Justin Lilly, Jared Campbell, Jordan Campbell; 2 daughters, Sharneaka Lilly, Asia Lilly; 2 brothers, John Lilly Jr., Larry (Cherrie) Lilly; 1 sister, Yolanda Lilly; 1 granddaughter, Jayda Campell; and a host of nieces & nephews.

Viewing will be held Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at 12:30 P.M. at Alabama National Cemetery with Military Honors.
