Elzie Moore was born to the parents of the late Willie Hayward Moore and the late Alvenia Burns Moore Brown on December 23, 1946 in Shelby County, Alabama.
He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Everdale Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated in Shelby County School System (Prentice High School) and retired at Abex after 25 years of employment. He later married the late Virginia Winters Moore where they shared many wonderful years filled with love and laughter until her passing.
He spent his life being a loving father and grandfather, devoted his time, talent and wisdom whenever it was needed. Elzie was preceded in death by his wife, the late Virginia Winters Moore; four brothers: Tommie Moore, James Moore; Willie James Moore, and John Moore; four sisters: Rosia Lee, Emma Mae, Aalvenia Elizabeth, Moore Paschel and Natha Lee Moore. He departed this life on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Shelby Medical Center in Alabaster, AL.
Elzie leaves to cherish his memories: five children: Lakesha (Derwin) Perry, LaMardra (Indjomour) Juliana, Asheville Moore, Christopher (Cornelius) Winters, John (Shawan) Winters; one brother, Daniel (Polly) Moore; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews; and a devoted niece, Lisa Peoples.

Viewing will be held Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at New Everdale Baptist Church in Montevallo with Interment at Agee Brothers Memorial Gardens in Clanton, AL
