Evangelist Saundra Billings Obituary

Obituary 
Evangelist Saundra Landers Billings (Sandy) was born September 14, 1951, to the late Reverend Frank D. and Mrs. Willie C. Woods Landers in Helena, AL. She accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Alford Peterson.

She transitioned from this life on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.

Sandy received her education in the Shelby County School District. She graduated from Thompson High School. After high school, she attended Bessemer Technical Institute where she received her Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate in 1972.

Evangelist Billings was married to Mr. Mason Billings for forty-seven years. To this union were five children and four bonus children.
Garrand D Landers of Alabaster, AL, Jerrald Douglas (Termerel) Landers of Birmingham, AL, Eric Dewayne Billings of Alabaster, AL , Victor Landre Billings, and daughter Krystal Y (Nathan) Echols of Gardendale, AL, Mason Billings, Jr. of Sioux City, Iowa, William (Odyssa) Billings of Miami, FL, Veronica Billings of Houston, TX, Rosalind Billings Gosserand of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Saundra was ordained a Minister in her 20’s. During her years, Evangelist was affiliated with Pleasant Grove Baptist Church - Fairfield, AL, New Covenant Gospel Church - Bessemer, AL. In 2013 she began a Home Bible Study, which her legacy will continue. She was a devoted member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church.

Preceding Saundra in death were her loving parents; Rev. Frank and Mrs. Willie C Landers, brother; McArthur Landers, son; Victor Landre Billings.

Saundra leaves to mourn her husband, nine children, fifthteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, three sisters; Emphress Lewis of Hoover, AL, Lillie (Herman) Fulp of Cleveland, OH, Valarie Landers of Jamaica, New York, two brothers; Frank D. (Diane) Landers Jr. of Cleveland, OH, and Terrance (Hazel) Landers of Helena, AL, two aunts; Aunt Josephine Woods of Huntsville, AL and Aunt Gertrude (Richard) Taylor of West Virginia and a host of nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held Friday, May 6, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at New Vision Christian Church 2383 Co Rd 25 Helena, AL 35080
with interment at Montevallo City Cemetery in Montevallo.
