Gwendolyn Ann Sawyer

Gwendolyn Ann Sawyer was born May 24, 1952, in Saginaw, AL. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age.

She attended Prentice High School in Montevallo, AL and later moved to Cleveland, OH, spreading her love and guidance.

She enjoyed singing, cooking, decorating, planning family reunions and absolutely loved spending time with " Family". She will always be remembered for her sweet tender heart and helping others. To know her was to love her. She was always giving from her heart.

Gwendolyn was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles Sawyer; parents, Willie Lee and Lillie Mae Montgomery; Sister, Juanita Gaiters; and brothers, Arthur Lee, Gregory, Willie James, and Brownell Montgomery.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Kedron (Tiara) Montgomery, Sheri (Patrick) Green, Emerson (LaToya) Dukes, Julia (Maurice) Welch, Valeria (Demetrius) Hale, Kenya Woods; nine grandchildren, Patrick, Malik, Jayla, Timothy, Nia, Rashad, Jeremiah, Emerald and Emerson; her sisters, Dorothy and Janis; brothers, Bishop Larry, Roary, Rocky, Ernest, and John Montgomery; and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers in law, extended family, and friends near and far.

Viewing and Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 27, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. -6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at New Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Calera, AL with Interment at Galilee Cemetery in Saginaw, AL.
