Obituary
Henrietta Lilly Taylor was born to Beatrice Lilly in Birmingham, Alabama on
April 26, 1955.
She confessed to Christ at a young age. She was baptized at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Montevallo, AL, where she remained a faithful member until she moved to Georgia. Henrietta graduated from Montevallo High School in 1973. She attended Alabama State University on a Track & Field Scholarship. She obtained a B.S. Degree in Health and Physical Education in 1977. Upon graduation, she began her teaching career with the Opelika School System, where she taught for one year. She then relocated to Georgia to accept a teaching and coaching position with the Hancock County School System. She taught in the district for two years. She served her remaining 34 years as an educator, in the the Baldwin County School District, where she also served as a cheerleading and girls’ soccer coach. She retired from the Baldwin County School district in 2012. She spent her retired years creating precious memories with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Todd Renardo Lilly and her great-nephew, Amari Deontae King. Henrietta gained her heavenly wings on Friday, February 18th, 2022, in Macon, Georgia.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her loving three daughters; LaMisha Clark (Reginald), Cemon Taylor, and Lazandra Taylor; Two grandchildren, Taylor and Mason Clark; Her devoted mother, Beatrice Lilly; Her two brothers, Henry Pope Jr. (Annie) and Kelvin Lilly; Her sister Rose Tucker; Aunt, Violena Lilly. Her nieces, Diane King (Paul), Kenisha Lilly, Shana Lilly; Her great-niece, Lashae Barnett (Connor); Her nephews, Dennis Williams, Derrick Wiliams, Lee Pope, and Craig Gentry; Cousins, James Bacon and Mary Bacon; Her best friend, Regina Johnson and a host of former coworkers, students, and friends who shall miss her dearly.
A Graveside Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Montevallo Cemetery- Montevallo, AL.
