James Christopher Brown was born to the late James Brown, Jr. and Essie Mae Cottingham Marner at Shelby Memorial Hospital in Alabaster, AL on July 16th, 1964.
James Christopher Brown was a student in the Montevallo, AL school system. He confessed Christ at a young age. He was baptized at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Montevallo, AL where he remained a faithful and dedicated member of the church and choir.
He was preceded in death by his father James Brown Jr., his mother, Essie Mae Marner; his brother Ervin Stanley Cottingham; and his sister Sharon Diane Cottingham Scott. He gained his heavenly wings on Sunday, February 6th, 2022, at his home.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his five sisters Lisa (William/Duck) Inabinett of Montevallo, AL; Olivia E. (James) Patrick of Wilton, AL; Delta Sue (Michael) Flowers of Pittsburgh, PA; Cynthia Rosemond of Montevallo, AL; Annie Brown of Pittsburgh, PA; and his three brothers Michael Campbell of Montevallo, AL; Michael Carter and Donald Brown of Pittsburgh, PA; his precious god daughter Chloe Satterfield; Abbie Connell (“Ma”); and his best friend Mary Depriest of Alabaster, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Viewing will be held Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Montevallo with burial at Carlton Hill Cemetery in Brierfield, AL.
