Jason Cohill Obituary

Master Jason Lamar Cohill began his mission with his parents Bonnie Lynn Cohill and Richard Allen Russell on December 1, 1984.

Mister (a.k.a. Mice, Mistro), as he was affectionately known by those closest to him), was also loved dearly by his maternal grandparents who preceded him in eternal rest, Bernice and Jackson Cohill, Jr.

He attended Apostolic Way Ministry Church in Saginaw, AL under the pastoral care of Pastor Mary McNeal. Jason was educated in the Shelby County, AL School System and a graduate of Thompson High School, Class of 2004. Jason also attended Virginia Technical College.

Jason was the father of one child, Jeremiah Lamar Cohill, whom he loved beyond words. His doctors, says his last words were for his son and how he had to get better to take care of him, who had just turned one.

Mister was and easy going fellow who professed no perfection but would do almost anything for anybody just to be amongst friends and family, even if it left him in a hot seat, except climb a ladder. Jason was also known as "Eight Ball." When he is brought up in conversation people would often say, "Ol' Mister, that’s my boi."

Mister leaves memories to treasure to his loving mom, Bonnie L. Cohill Chapple, his pride and joy, son, Lil' Jeremiah Lamar Cohill, wife, Dorothy Keith Cohill and his loving dad, Richard A. (Cynthia) Russell. Also, to cherish his memories are his siblings, Jackson (Bethany) Cohill, III; England, UK, Jackie LaShanda Cohill; Sandy Springs, GA, Lee D’Andre McCarter; MN, SSG Trey Allen (Rachel) Russell; KY, Brock Holden Russell; Calera, Keila (Courtney) Hall, Gary (Rekeeda) Cunningham, and Christopher Cunningham. Aunts and Uncles, Valerie P. Cohill, Jacqueline C. "Mama Jack" Cohill, Kendra Thomas, Alene Cohill, Undra Hall, Millison (Myrone) Rutledge, Marvin L. Smith, Christopher Smith; Charles (Angela) Horn; Calera, AL, (Melanie) Smith. Grandmas, Rosie M. Cohill, Bobbie J. Cohill, and Margaret Horn, Mother-in-Law Ella Davis. Mister’s specials: Andrieka Thomas, Antionette C. Evans, Antoinne Bivins, Tammy Tanniehill, Uncle Billy, Brittney, Crystal and Lashurne Wagoner, Kim Shepheard, Barbara Harris, Christian McNeal, Mrs. Betty Washington, Jamell Hall, Nicholas Cannon and a host of other relatives and friends.
