In Loving Memory of

John "Tiger" Davis Bolling, Jr. - Obituary

February 12, 1967 - July 4, 2023

John "Tiger" Davis Bolling, Jr., lovingly known as “Tiger”, departed this world on July 4, 2023, at Shelby Medical Center. Born on February 12, 1967, in Montevallo, AL, he was the cherished sixth child of the late John Davis Bolling, Sr. and Willie Gilmore Bolling.

At an early age, Tiger was baptized and professed his faith in Christ at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, under the guidance of Reverend Roger L. White. He later became a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, where the late Reverend Willie Earl Jackson led the congregation. In 2023, Tiger rededicated his life to Christ, embracing his spiritual journey with renewed passion.

Tiger leaves behind a legacy of precious memories. He is survived by his devoted mother, Willie Gilmore Bolling of Montevallo, AL, as well as three brothers and three sisters: William (Sandra) Bolling of Hattiesburg, MS; Linda (Timothy) Benton of Brooklyn, NY; Larry (Linda) Bolling of Baldwin, NY; Myra (Valdemere) Cyrus of Augusta, GA; Jahn Bolling of Brooklyn, NY; and Michael Bolling of Montevallo, AL. He also leaves behind two aunts, Louise Prentice of Nashville, TN, and Abbie Connell of Montevallo, AL. Tiger will be fondly remembered by his six nephews, ten nieces, four grandnephews, three grandnieces, five great-grandnieces, one great-grandnephew, five godchildren, and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.

Preceding Tiger in death are his father, John Davis Bolling, Sr., as well as his grandparents, Leslie and Sarah Gilmore, and California Connell.

From birth to his final day, Tiger was affectionately known as "Tiger." Throughout his life, he gained nicknames among friends, such as Bone and Casanova. Tiger dedicated himself to inspiring others and actively participating in his community. From his involvement in the community choir to his leadership in tee ball and various other initiatives, Tiger made a lasting impact. During his high school years and beyond, he gained recognition for founding several groups that brought entertainment and productivity to the community. Notable among them were the Krush II, Valley Boys, Opulence Group, LLC, and Bamalon Entertainment.

Tiger's passion for entertainment extended into adulthood, as he remained heavily involved in talent shows and special events. He graduated from Montevallo High School in the Class of 1985 and became an alumnus of the University of Montevallo. Later, Tiger earned an AS Degree in Electronic Engineering from Virginia College of Business in Birmingham, AL.

Driven by his passion for design and development, Tiger developed a keen interest in housing and complex projects. He journeyed from Montevallo to Atlanta, Chicago, and eventually settled in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. There, he expanded his horizons in housing development and collaborated with numerous developers throughout the Minnesota region.

In 2002, Tiger became an independent project coordinator for several mid-level residential builders in Minnesota and Texas, demonstrating his expertise and commitment to his craft. He dedicated several years of service to Mass Mutual Financial Services in St. Paul, MN, before joining US Bank in Egan, MN.

Tiger's pursuits extended beyond his professional endeavors. He developed a deep love for golf and became an avid golfer. Furthermore, he was known for his unwavering support of the Los Angeles Lakers and his true passion for Auburn University.

Above all else, Tiger cherished his family unconditionally. His infectious personality drew love and admiration from all who knew him. Whenever he entered a room, he brought it to life, leaving a lasting impact on those around him. Tiger's inspirational spirit touched people from all walks of life.

Although we mourn the loss of Tiger, we celebrate the vibrant life he lived. He will be remembered as a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend. His legacy of love, inspiration, and community engagement will continue to resonate within our hearts.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
