OBITUARY
John Henry Lacey was born February 11, 1943, in Shelby County, Alabama to the union of the late Rev. John Henry Lacey, Sr. and Margaret Lee Hale Lacey.
John was the third child of four born to his parents. They were a lovingly, supportive, and close-knit family. He attended Prentice High School, Montevallo, Alabama, until he left the area exploring a new life.
In his recent years, he returned to Alabama, where he established residence with his oldest sister, Emma Lacey Faulks and his niece Valerie Taylor. Along the way of life, John met and shared life experiences with Ida Porter.
He was a very positive role model in the life of Nishita Rogers, whom he loved very much.
John's work experiences were many. Everyone who knew him, knew he loved to drive and fish. He had no problem driving "Miss Daisy" or anyone who needed that kind of help.
All of John's siblings preceded him in death: Sarah Jo Lacey Flecha; Curtis Edward Lacey: and his oldest sister, Emma Lacey Faulks.
Left behind to treasure memories are his nieces, Valerie (Glenn) Taylor, Tameka Taylor; nephews: Cortez Lacey, Jarat (Nicole) Lacey, Keith Lacey, Marlo (Chris) Edwards; Tikeda Flecha, Uncle: Johnnie (Nellie) Lee; Aunts: Homer Lee, Mary Lacey; and great, nieces, nephews, cousins, a truly devoted cousin, Courtney Hall (PeeWee) of Calera, Alabama; and a host of relatives and friends.
