Michael Dewayne Peoples was born June 4, 1980,
to the late Michael W. Peoples and Betty Gentry in Montevallo, AL. ‘Mikey’ as he was affectionately called, passed away from this life at home with his loving, devoted and praying mother by his side.
Mikey was baptized at Faith Temple Deliverance Center in
Montevallo, AL, under the leadership of Bishop J. Harris. He later
moved and attended Christ Temple Deliverance in Birmingham, AL
under the leadership of the late Bishop Theo Bailey.
He attended and graduated from Montevallo High School with the
class of 1999.
He had a passion for animals and worked briefly for the Shelby
County Humane Society. He then went on to work at Hattie B’s in
Birmingham, AL as a head cook until his health started failing.
He loved his family and life to the fullest. Mikey was a BIG Alabama
Football Fan. His encouragement and enthusiasm to push others was so genuine. He will always be remembered for his love of others and his kind heart.
Mikey was preceded in death by his father, Michael Peoples,
Grandfathers, Sailor Peoples and Hoyt McKenzie, Brothers Andrew
and Jeffrey, and some aunts and uncles.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories a devoted, praying, and
loving Mother Betty Gentry, Grandmothers Mary Peoples & Georgia
McKenzie. Nine siblings: Paul, Lorene (James), Donna (Reginald),
Debra, Miriam (Tony), Marion (Tracy) Stephen, Leander Goode and a
host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends. Three
special friends, Christie Jones, Andrea Daniels and Delia Ray will
forever cherish the many wonderful memories shared with Mikey.
Viewing will be held Sunday, January 1, 2023, from 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 2, 2023, at 12:00 Noon at Bethsaida Apostolic Church in Montevallo with interment at Montevallo Cemetery.
