Bobby Gene Lacey, Sr. was born to the parentage of the late George Lacey, Jr. and the late Mary Bell Lacey on August 23, 1950, in Shelby County, Alabama.
Bobby accepted Christ at an early age, and later in life accepted his call to the Ministry of Jesus Christ.
He graduated from Shelby County Training School in 1968. In 1968 he enlisted in The United States Army and served our country for Nine years, serving as a paratrooper. He also served in the National Guard. Bobby received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Armed Services.
Obituary
Bobby was a working man and was an over the road truck driver for 30 years.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Diane Carter Lacey and was married for over 52 years.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, George Lacey, Jr. and Mary Bell Lacey; two brother, David Lee Lacey and James Edward Lacey his sister Bertha L. Avery Bedford
He departed this life on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Brookwood Shelby Medical Center in Alabaster, AL.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of over 52 years, Diane Lacey; One daughter Teresa Lacey McGinnis, Two sons; Bobby Gene Lacey, Jr. and Norman Eugene Lacey; Two Brothers; Willie George (Cynthia) Lacey and Jessie Lee Avery; Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held Friday, Nov. 4, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at The Good Shepherd.
Interment will be Monday, Nov. 7, 2022 at 10:15 A.M. at Alabama National Cemetery with Military Honors.
