Mother Ollie Mae Mathis Taylor was born December 18, 1918, to the late Anderson Mathis and Catherine Marshall in Columbus Georgia.
She was educated at Spencer High School in Columbus Georgia.
She married George Taylor in Orlando Florida on July 1, 1941. To this union one child was born, and they adopted another daughter.
Her son Theodore Taylor and daughter in law Betty preceded her death.
She traveled twenty plus years with her husband an Air force Sgt. Major.
After the loss of her husband in 1978, Mrs. Taylor contributed to the community whole heartedly.
Her accomplishments: Missionary President of Grants Chapel; Eastern Star; Director on Program for Aging and a Foster Parent to thirty plus children.
She departed this life on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at her home in Calera, AL.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter Wanda Taylor of Calera, AL. Grandsons: Theodore Taylor II, Colodrick Sailes, Desmond Sailes, William Sailes; granddaughters: Elise Taylor, Pastor Dohna Taylor, Tia Sailes, Tamara Sailes; Foster children: Bobby Spence, Evida McDaniel, Shenna Burnett, William Swift, Jason Anderson; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd Chapel with interment at First Baptist Cemetery in Calera.
