Rev. Jeremiah England, Jr. Obituary

Jeremiah England Jr a handsome young baby boy was born October 9, 1969 to Jeremiah and Velma England Sr. of Sprott  AL. Jeremiah was a quiet, shy little boy but soon changed to become an energetic, daredevil of a young man while growing up playing with his cousins and friends. He was raised in a community where everyone raised your children. This is where he developed the love of eating black eyed peas with mayonnaise from one of the mothers in the community helping to rear him.

He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the New Oak Grove Baptist Church where he later served as a deacon, and eventually preaching his initial sermon under the leadership of Pastor Woodie Melton. While away from his home church, he attended the Mt Teamon Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Michael England Sr, under watch care, but eventually returned back to his home Church where he remained until his death.

On September 4, 1993, Jeremiah, also known as Jr to many, married his loving friend, Tracey Smith. To this union, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, his pride and joy, and often called his twin, Jemeria.

Jeremiah was a very hard working young man and had a brilliant business mind. He was the president and founder of J. England Transportation, Inc. He would often say because of the business minds and the work ethics of his England family and the brilliant minds and smart thinking of his Melton family, he was born to be a leader.

 Jeremiah had an extensive background in the transportation industry. He was born into a family that engaged in the logging industry in Perry County, Alabama. Jeremiah would often speak of what he learned from his father, brother and each uncle while learning to drive a truck and working in the business. After several years of working with his family, he decided to branch out and work with other companies, all while learning the business aspect. He later found his niche in the flatbed and dump truck industry. He purchased his first truck in 2012 and leased it on to other companies including farmers. He was well known because of his work ethics, his gift of gab, his dedication and dependability. His customers loved him so much that he decided to incorporate his business and in 2013, J England Transportation, Inc was founded.

Once his customers got word that he had his own authority and he was increasing his fleet size and availability, the work began to come at an overwhelmingly fast pace. Jeremiah credited this growth to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as he knew from his spiritual guidance that promotion did not come from man but ONLY from God.

While this was Jeremiah’s plan, God allowed him to bask in that enjoyment for a little while but he had other plans for Jeremiah. Those plans were for him to minister to others and he did that through his preaching, teaching, singing, talking and as many know and received, his music.

Even when he was battling cancer, he would often make many phone calls to people, even when they did not answer, he would send praise and worship songs to them. He said his truck was his place of worship, his quiet place, where he could talk to God and really hear him and he would often go outside and many times during his chemo treatments, making phone calls to people.

Jeremiah was also a member of the Goshen Masonic Lodge #132 of Marion, Alabama. This brotherhood has been a very integral part of his life. They have been uplifting, caring and has shown the true meaning of the word family, taking care of your loved one and community.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Victoria England and Valerie Teresa England;
