Reverend Barbara Ann Adams Toomer

Reverend Barbara Ann Adams Toomer was born September 15, 1960, to the late Tom Freddie Adams and Lillie Mae Taylor
Adams in Alabaster, Alabama.

Barbara was a loving mother who cherished her three children deeply,along with her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Alabaster, Alabama where she served diligently on various ministries which include: An Associate Minister; she headed the Women’s Ministry; she was a member of the Christian Education Department; she founded the first Sweetheart (Valentine’s) Ball; and was active in many other ministries throughout the church. She was a devout servant who truly loved the Lord.

On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, she closed her eyes in a peaceful sleep. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom Freddie and Lillie Mae Adams, her brother, Dr. Thomas F. Adams, Sr., and granddaughter, Madison Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: three loving children, Jamar Johnson, Janelle Johnson, and Isaiah Toomer; three grandchildren, Janiyah, MacKenzie and Jordan; three siblings, Glenda (Samuel) Gilbert, Michael Adams, and Fredrick Adams; one aunt, Margaret Wilson, a devoted cousin, friend, and sister, Debora Parks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Last, but not least, her faithful companion and pet, “Dallas”
