Robert Earl Haynes, Jr. Obituary

Robert Earl Haynes Jr. fondly known as Redman, was born to the late Robert Haynes Sr. and Carrie Mae Haynes, a devoted mother, on November 27, 1954.

He peacefully took his rest surrounded by friends and family on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 1:46 PM. Robert confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized and added to the Church of Christ.

His formative years were spent with his parents and his four siblings, whom he adored deeply: older sister, Barbara Mahone, brothers, Tommy Haynes (Constance), Hosea Haynes, and John Haynes. Though not the eldest, he always endeavored to lead when he could, to love, protect, and support them as they meant the world to him.

Robert met Irene Bogan Cook through family connections, and through their shared devotion to worship, they established a friendship that blossomed into matrimony on June 28, 2000. In this union, he found happiness and a companion that stood by his side through all of life's joys and challenges. He was also blessed with two beautiful children, Amanda Cook and Jerry Cook (Trina), along with (2) grandchildren and (6) great-grandchildren.

As a father, Robert found joy in raising and supporting his children to become the best versions of themselves. He was a devoted father and grandfather, relishing in sharing life lessons and scenarios that fostered growth and understanding. He is survived by five children: Demond Vasser (Clarinda), Tawana Vines (Kevin), Alesher Wooley (Chris), Deonta Haynes, Corey Haynes (Lameka). He also leaves behind (13) grandchildren and (6) great-grandchildren from this lineage.

Also cherishing his memory are his loving uncles, Henry Haynes (Martha), Ricky Kirkland and Eddie Kirkland (Maxine), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Robert's heart, his smile, his thoughtfulness, his lasting words and conversations, memorable moments, and acts of kindness will remain with us. His admiration for his family, friends, and community will ensure that the light he brought will never be forgotten. His caring soul will be dearly missed and remembered by the many lives he touched.

May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
