Tennie Mae Mayweather
Tennie Mae Mayweather was born July 1, 1945, to the late William and Betty Mayweather.
Tennie was baptized and confessed her life to Christ at an early age and joined Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church in Montevallo, Alabama.
Growing up, Tennie attended Almont Elementary and Prentice High Schools. After high school, she attended Alabama A&M University, where she received her B.S. Degree. She later received her Master's Degree from Alabama State University. After college, she worked for the Shelby County School System at Montevallo Elementary School.
Tennie was preceded in death by her father and mother; brother, William (Bill) Mayweather, Jr.; and sisters, Barbara Jean Mayweather Belisle and Margaret Mayweather. She leaves to cherish her memories: nieces: Sonjia (Ronnie) McCary, Cathy Belisle Gaddis, Tonya (Randy) Groomes, William (Billy) Belisle, William (Teresa) Mayweather, and Derek Mayweather; sister-in-law, Dorothy Mayweather; aunt, Willie Mae Cottingham; special caretaker, Paulette Alexander; and a host of great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Graveside Memeorial Service will be held Friday, Dec. 8, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at Montevallo Cemetery.
