April Christal Lilly-Ervin

Ms. April Christal Lilly-Ervin was the first child born to Wilburn E. Lilly and the late Alvanie (Harris) Lilly.  She was born Tuesday April 15, 1969 in Fayetteville, NC.  She departed this life on Monday January 25, 2021, in Avon, IN.  As the daughter of a USAF career airman, she grew up living and going to school in several locations internationally and around the US.  Ultimately, she graduated from Belleville East High School in Belleville, IL, Class of 1987.  After a two year hiatus because of a leg injury and short overseas tour for her father April went on to graduate from Western Illinois University, Class of 1994.

She possessed:   AA Liberal Arts (1990) Southwestern Community College in Illinois, BA Political Science and Psychology(1994) Western Illinois University, Paralegal Course Certificate (2007) IUPUI Indianapolis, Microsoft Office Certification (2011) Price Waterhouse Coopers LLC, Former member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals.

She was strong in her Christian beliefs and she loved to help people.  She was a thoughtful, well meaning, happy child and it carried over into adulthood. She thought that everyone should be good to one another.  You could always tell when someone disappointed her. No one could ask for a better more caring person. She loved music and was quite a good pianist and singer during her high school years until she no longer found the time to do so. She also loved to watch movies and a good laugh.  She loved to entertain family and friends.  In the work place, she was especially gifted at office administration and the use of all those complicated office machines and network systems that support offices these days.  From her position in Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC), she worked diligently to support the company and to influence school children to take a good look at the accounting and business world for a rewarding career. You would have thought she was a recruiter rather than an administrator.  She was a member of Eastern Star Church in Indianapolis.

Left to cherish her memory is Andre Ervin, her husband of nearly twenty years, her father, Wilburn Lilly, sister, Sonja Lilly, niece, Alvanie Christal Lilly.  All reside in Avon, IN.  She also leaves aunts, Carrie Harris of Midway, AL,Eleta (Harold) Brown of Champaign, IL, and uncles, Ervin (Brenda) Lilly of Canton, OH and Hammett (Janet) Lilly of Hot Springs, AR.   She leaves behind a host of beloved relatives and friends scattered around the country.

A graveside interment service is planned for Saturday February 6, 2021 at 1.00 PM in Montevallo AL at Montevallo City Cemetery. We will observe masking and social distancing guidance. For those who wish to join us, we will proceed from The Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 150 White Street, Montevallo, AL 35115 at 1230pm to Montevallo City Cemetery.  We also expect to arrange a memorial service at a later date yet to be determined.
